After writing about “The Millionaire Meditation”, I also wanted to mention my favorite free resource for traditional meditation instruction.
Audio Dharma, operated by the Insight Meditation Center of Redwood City, CA, offers an excellent 5-week meditation course for beginners, presented by Gil Fronsdale. There are currently two separate sets of teaching, both of which offer essentially the same instruction from different time periods – one from the fall of 2007, and another from the winter of 2003.
The instructions consist of mp3 audios and pdf handouts. No email address or personal information required… just download and start learning.
Access the Introduction to Meditation series here.

Eckhart Tolle mentions in his book The Power of Now that what a guru once told him to do was ask yourself what your next thought was going to be and see how long it takes your next thought to arise. This really helped me to learn to find the empty space in my head and keep it empty so that I can have some inner stillness and peace.
That’s really interesting, ESB… thanks for sharing it. There really are as many ways to meditate as there are people who practice meditation.
